What is base oil for the production of grease

When producing different greases, manufacturers choose different base oils and condensates.

The API classifies base oils into five categories based on the main characteristics of their composition:

One is solvent refined base oil, which has high sulfur content and unsaturated hydrocarbon (mainly aromatic) content;

The two types of base oils are mainly hydrotreated base oils with low content of sulfur nitrogen and aromatic hydrocarbons.

The three main hydroisomerized base oils have low content of sulfur and aromatic hydrocarbons and high viscosity index.

The four types are polyL4A olefin (PAO) synthetic oil-based oils.

Five classes are all kinds of base oils other than class A.
